The number of Americans who have no Health care is in excess of 45 million. It is scary.

To me, the more worrisome aspect of the whole situation is nobody seems to be doing anything about it. I hear a lot of talk from Washington but my health coverage is not getting any cheaper. I have friends unable to afford any health care. Chuck Swindall once said, “We are all faced with a series of great opportunities brilliantly disguised as impossible situations.”

Don't forget that regardless of your political leanings or unbelief in American, Americans are the most entrepreneurial people in history. Take a little spin out to Silicon Valley and see what I mean. But even less significant invention reflects our entrepreneurial spirit. How about Hula Hoops. Go ahead, laugh, but the inventor hasn't had to work for the last 50 years.

With that sort of heritage it can only be a matter of time until somebody addresses the health care issue in real terms with real solutions. Here is one scenario that seems plausible. Future health coverage in America will be a combination of some or all of the following:

1. Discount Health Plans - Not Insurance

The individual will be responsible for payment at the time of the service, but at a greatly reduced rate. Why the "greatly reduced rate"? In order to understand the value of Discount Health Plans one must look a little deeper at the costs the Providers themselves must overcome.

Most Providers today are in some sort of PPO or HMO and as such offer a discount to the network plan. The patient comes in, pays their copay and that is all the money the Provider collects immediately. The Provider then is responsible for processing the claim to the PPO or HMO and waits 60 to 90 days for payment, if they get paid at all.

That's where Discount Health Plans make sense to a Provider. He or She can offer a larger discount to the patient, collect that money at the time of the treatment and not have to file any claim to the PPO.

2. A Health Savings Account

This plan is gaining popularity because of the tax benefits. It is a tax free contribution with tax free use for medical treatment and it rolls over.

3. Catastrophic - High Deductible Insurance Coverage

Pretty self-explanatory. Costs for the coverage would be reduced due to the higher deductible.

This isn't gospel but out of all the "solutions" being bantered about, this one makes the most sense. What keeps you from changing your circumstances? What keeps you from living your dreams? What keeps you from doing what is necessary to improve your life? What keeps you from it? Whatever your "it" is, what is it that keeps you from moving forward?

I own a small business, I'm active in several internet marketing programs, I teach guitar lessons and I'm always looking for another stream of income. The one thing I have learned is that
nothing is easy and nothing is free. On the other hand there are lots of things that are not what I would classify as "hard" that can improve your life.

Becoming active in a local church is easy. Finding areas of service within your community is easy. Joining affiliate programs on the internet to try and create residual income is easy. So I
guess my question is why don't more people do the easy things to improve their life. Don't get me wrong, I'm not only talking about making more money. But the fact is that most people
hate going to work everyday, feel unfulfilled in their jobs, are worried about their retirement and are yearning for a way out. What keeps them from it?

There is no better time in history than now to find job opportunities. But some folks won't even go that far. Others that look and find options fail to follow through on even the simplest requirements of the program. Some find the option, sign up and then do nothing else as if some magic will occur that fills their paypal accounts with money. It is a phenomenon that I am
constantly observing, analyizing and questioning.

I have been witnessing the most glaring aspects of this phenomenon in one of my affiliate programs. This is not self-promotion so the affiliate will remain anonymous. The program is not
unlike thousands of others I have seen on the internet. It can create residual income in a couple of different ways. First by selling products and second by signing up people to participate.

The product list is extensive and includes lots of stuff that we all buy everyday. In order to advance to the first level of commissions, you are required to generate a certain amount of sales. The sales can come from yourself or from someone else. In spite of the fact that individuals in the program buy these sorts of products every single week and month for themselves and their families, they will not buy these products from a program that will pay them money down the road and easily advance them to a position to create residual income. It is insanity. They have found an opportunity, they have enlisted in the program but they will not go any further.

Here is my disclaimer. Not all of the programs on the internet are legitimate. Duh. It seems to me if you take the time to research a program including payout percentages, length in business, market reputation, etc., finding one that is legitimate is not that hard. But finding the program doesn't make you any money. Signing up for the program doesn't make you any money. Waiting for somebody to do it for you will surely not make you any money. Every program I am using now has extensive help for it's members. The help doesn't benefit you if you don't access it. Do you see my point?

One of the first things I noticed about building a business is that nobody does it for you. Simple right? Maybe to you and me but millions of people don't understand. They want a better life, more security for their family, more income, less time at work and more time at home but they don't want to put the effort into actually doing it. It's no different if you are starting a brick and mortar business or a business out of your home or a business on the internet. It takes effort. Not just on the sign up but everyday. Consistent effort will change your life. Period.

So the question remains. What is your "it" and what keeps you from it? You can find thousands of step by step by step programs on the internet that are making thousands of people residual income. What will it take for you to take the first step?

Home Based Internet Business Resources - How To Rank High On Google

To rank high on Google, your website has to be measured by “500 million variables and 2 billion terms” of Google’s equation, as stated on Google’s Corporate Information Technology Overview page. Google’s ranking system is based on a democracy, and the citizens are the links on the worldwide web that vote for each other. Not unlike our government today, many of these “links” are paid for, and some are of greater value. Ranking high on Google is playing politics. Links and Keywords are the key players in the ranking game. Google also takes into consideration the full content of the page including HTML codes, fonts, subdivisions and the “precise location of each word.”

Links are votes. You must develop a link strategy. Google likes linking things together. Create a rich network of links with distinct quality content. Your website must have quality links going out and coming in. Quality is the key word. Links from reputable pages (which ironically includes .gov pages) are given more weight than links on “link farm” pages. Linking to a “link farm” is one of the worst things you can do and can potentially get your deported off the web. The better the links, the better your ranking. Google will factor in your page content and the content of the pages you link to. Do your research. Google has a free page rank tool on their toolbar. Use it to find out the page ranking and visit the site.

Google also gives more weight to one-way links that lead to your site, and less weight to reciprocal links. How do you get these? Buy them. List yourself in a reputable directory listing. Make sure you are listed in the Open Directory Project (DMOZ.org). If you can’t buy links, write good content. Give someone a reason to link to your site. Again, the keyword is Quality. Submitting articles and press releases are also strategies in the linking game.

Keywords are your platform. They are what you stand for. Words count. Graphics don’t. Make sure your words are not in graphic form and make sure you have relevant titles under your graphics. Start with your title tag. Put everything you stand for in ten words or less. Make your URLs short and keyword specific. Brand yourself. If you type in soda, Mountain Dew will not show up on the first page. If you type in Mountain Dew, it will be on the first page. Brand yourself so users know what they are searching for. Do not put the same words in every heading and every tag. Be descriptive. Sell yourself. There are multitudes of free keyword rank and suggestion tools. Use them as a supplement to your knowledge of your company.

Think of every element in your website as words and pages in a presentation that is going to be up for a vote. Does everything fit? Is it all related? Are you a reputable company with a quality product? Does it sell? Now sell it. Google is waiting for you.

This article is sponsored by http://www.spinsuccess.com/affiliates/id/3831_1_aaid_1

The Joy Of Owning A Home Based Business

The Joy of Owning A Home Based Business
Copyright © Joe Roberts
theWebResources.com

At the risk of being corny, I am going to share with you my thoughts and feelings after 5 years of running my own business.

After spending the previous 25 years in outside sales, I was convinced I could make it owning my own business. I was aslo scared to death. Working for somebody else has its perks. You can count on a check every week, have your insurance paid for, have a 401k to invest in with matching funds from the company...and the list goes on.

Things started to change drastically when buy-outs and ownership changes became more a part of everyday business in corporate America. Years of dedicated service suddenly did not mean as much. Prior performance, particularly in developing customer relations, also went right down the drain. The new guys always have a better, bigger way.

Consequently I seldom experienced any joy in performing my job over the last 6 or 7 years. I read an article not long ago stating that over 75% of the people working in the United Stateswere either dissatisfied or felt unfilfilled at their job. Listen more closely to conversations going on around you at the supermarket, restaurant or social gatherings. Not many people are satisfied. Solomon, indisputably one of the wisest men in history, said, "A man can do nothing better than to eat and drink and find satisfaction in his work." Enjoying what you do is an important thing. Maybe, the most important thing.

In 2003 I started Specialty Home Repair, llc. We are just a two-man company and a two-man crew. That is, the bosses are the laborers are the secretaries..you get the picture. No 401k, no expense account, no company vehicle, etc. etc. You would think that alone would be enough to drive a man to drink. Not knowing when your next nickel is going to show up can be a slight hurdle as well. Just pondering all of this confusion can and very often does prevent folks just like you and me from taking that step of faith.

Here's what you're missing if you don't tackle the challenge of changing your circumstance. Energy. It's not just an adage. If you are not saying "Oh God It's Friday" and "Thank God It's Monday", you do not know what you're missing. I can't wait to get going on Monday. I am expectant to see what life has for me each week. I am excited about the prospect of meeting new people who never heard our name and turning them into loyal customers. I am thankful that I'm able to do it. You will never experience the thrill of seeing something evolve from zero to a living if you never take the chance. That is true joy. But
before you even turn on your computer, the first
question you have to ask yourself is whether
you’re cut out for this kind of work.

The fact is, building a home-based business isn’t
for everyone. Some people like the commute. They
really do enjoy having a boss who tells them what
to do, and they like the routine of working
nine-to-five for an ordinary salary that can
barely pay the mortgage. Personally, I think
they’re nuts.

More reasonably, there are people who are
concerned about the risk of starting up their own
business. They’re not sure it’s worth the
investment of time and money, and they’re scared
of the responsibility that comes with running
their own company. They wonder if there is
another way to escape the rat race.

I’m sure there is. You could win the lottery or
wait for your Aunt Sue to keel over and leave you
her condo. Or maybe you could sit down with a pen
and paper and draw the blueprint for "The Next
Big Thing". Anything can happen... Right?

For me, what happened was creating a successful,
self-running Internet marketing system. It didn’t
happen without effort. It didn’t happen without
at least some initial investment of both time and
money and, of course, it doesn’t happen now
without me making sure that the taxes are filed
and the paperwork is done. But it happened.

I’m my own boss. I work from home according to my
own schedule and I get to pocket all the cash my
business makes. If you’re prepared to give an
e-business the time, the work and the money it
needs to get started and get growing, it can
happen for you too.

Article excerpted from "Dotcomology":
Don't Pay A Dime For Any Ebook, Marketing
Course, Software Program Or Anything Else Until
You've Read This Groundbreaking Document...
Click Here to Discover "Dotcomology" Now!

Put Your Talents To Work For You

For many different reasons people find themselves out of work, whether by layoff, termination or retirement. Looking for another job in a tight job market can be an exercise in futility and many times, you may just want a part-time job to help fill in the gaps of time. Why not take what you learned over the years and offer your services as a freelancer?

Whether it is writing, designing or consulting, there is a growing base of companies that need help, but cannot afford to hire a full-time person. They also may not need full-time help and can use an extra hand, or mind, during seasonal explosions in business. Retired executives are in demand as management consultants to help fledgling businesses learn from professionals who have been there and done that.

If you give it enough thought, there will be hidden talents that you used in your previous jobs that can be beneficial to another company, even if on a limited basis. This can be especially helpful for someone who recently retired and may just want a reason to get out of house. Or, if it’s raining and they can’t play golf.

Previous retail managers, for example may be able to help with store sets or with inventory control. Depending on their strengths in their previous work history, they can put those strengths as a consultant to new retailers. Small operations tend to shoot from the hip when looking at their product mix and an experienced operations or merchandising manager can offer them help to improve per-visit sales by their customers. Not everyone who owns or operates a retail outlet, or even an internet store, has the marketing savvy needed to increase customer sales.

Getting customers into the store can be another possibility for a former ad executive, or even someone who work in the advertising department of the local newspaper. If you have experience designing prints ads, many companies may be able to use your experience on a contact basis. When they a new ad, you can put it together for them, get paid for your work and move on to the next contract customer.

In the age of the internet, freelance writers are always in demand to produce crisp, clean copy for web sites and sales letters for online retailers. Persons with a graphics background may be able to pick up a little extra work designing web sites, and even more if they understand the language to get them on the internet.

Everyone develops experience of some sort when they work and taking stock of your experience asset can be a plus in finding work, or even
tarting your own home-based business.

Joe Roberts owns theWebResources.com where you can research proven home based internet businesses and access home based internet business resources. Perhaps having an online website is a great way to advertise your personal business. This will help others to know what products and services that you offer are, and how these products can improve their daily lives.

One of the easiest and most effective ways of promoting your website is to advertise it on several search engines. A search engine scans your website for meta tags or keywords that are related to a searchers request. Using several different key words can help more searchers hit upon your site. Applying to several search engines will increase the number of onlookers to your site, as this is the type of online searching that is used most frequently. Advertising your site online opens your site to customers at all hours of the day and night. People all over the world can browse your site and purchase items, even while you are asleep.

Printing business cards that include all of the necessary information, including your website can also draw in new clients. Shopping online is a growing trend and you do not want to be left out. Giving out business cards to potential clients or even leaving them at places such as public bulletin boards in nearby shopping centers. It may also help to include your web address to your office stationary and fliers. If this is not an option, you can print small labels on your home computer and add them to various advertisements that you send out.

Add your web address as a tag line on your emails too, so that people you come into contact with will have the option to browse your site. You may want to consider paying to have links to your site, posted on other web sites. These sites should be ones that are related to your business, but not sites that are competition to your site. Email the site that you would like to have a link from, and explain that you would like to be considered for placing an ad on their site. You may be asked to pay a small monthly fee for the link to your site, but it can be well worth it if it increases traffic to your web site, and helps to increase the financial stability of your business.

Do not forget to advertise in local area newspapers also and include your website in the ad. Many potential customers may be interested in your company, but are not sure exactly what types of products and services that you provide. Letting them browse your site before they contact you can cut down on the time that you spend on those that are not interested in what you have to sell, and allows you to focus on those that are interested in your products.

Joe Roberts owns theWebResources.com where you can research proven home based internet businesses and access home based internet business resources. Without an
understanding of what makes people buy what they buy, and eschew what
they don’t want, we can never hope to be more than a journeyman seller.

Here are some things to consider as you enter the sales profession. These
lessons are not just about sales, however. They relate to everything we do
as human beings. How we interact with others, how we can gain influence
over people. It’s not magic tricks. It’s just simple psychology.

When we buy something, there are a few steps we go through in every
transaction. To begin with, we have to desire something. We have to feel
some need, or want for the item in question. Without this initial interest, we
merely pass along, leaving an item on the shelf, or on the car lot, or in the
hands of the salesperson. A person must have an initial interest to even
consider making a sale to them. Of course, this interest can be generated,
but it is better if there is a certain amount of motivation there from the
beginning.

Cold calling is one of the least successful business practices,
and for good reason. Yes, a skilled cold caller can make a living simply
through the law of averages. But a person with a desirable product, a
person with a product that draws people in–at least a little–will find a much
easier road.

After we experience that initial interest, we then make a decision to purchase
the item in question. This is not a final decision, but rather a warm up
decision, and it can change, depending on the price and commitment to the
product. Yes, we feel this is something we want or need, but there are still
some questions. At this point, we may look to our friends, family, or
business associates to reassure us that the purchase is a wise one. We may
choose to heed or disregard that advice, but it is important that we seek it.

Finally, after making the purchase, we want to feel some sort of reassurance
afterwards. This is where many salesman falter. They don’t follow up if they
don’t feel there is any further sales opportunity with the customer. This can
leave the customer feeling alienated, and even as if they’ve been taken. In
most states, there are laws that give the customer a certain window of time
during which they can change their mind on a purchase. If you as the
salesperson do not follow up with your customer, the chances are that
much greater that they will back out, leaving all of that hard work you did to
make the sale out in the yard to rust.

Joe Roberts owns theWebResources.com where you can research proven home based internet businesses and access home based internet business resources. I had a long list prior to starting my first business Specialty Home Repair, llc. The questions I had were: How do I get customers? How can I make it without a weekly paycheck? What happens if I can't make it? Will I be a failure? Where will I get the money to get going? If you have considered starting your own business, you probably had the same thoughts and concerns. If you want to start your own home based business but can't quite get over the hump, you are more than likely not doing it for any or all of those reasons.

The main obstacle to overcome is belief. Do you believe you can? Do you believe you have the tools to make it? Do you believe you can deal with the pressures that accompany owing a business? If you don't believe you will not make it. You can stop reading this article now. But before you go, here's one more question, don't you already deal with a ton of pressures at your current job? I spent 23 years in the corporate world before I became a business owner and there was plenty of pressure. Pressure from clients and customers, pressure from upper management and shareholders, pressure from within the organization, pressure to fit in and the list goes on and on and on. If there's going to be pressure anyway, why not be in control of your own destiny? Once I started thinking in those terms my energy level rose, my sense of purpose became more focused and I started enjoying life a whole lot more. My point is this: you are probably better equipped to handle the pressure of owning a home based business than you realize. Believe.

The best advice I could give anybody would be to make an educated decision and GET STARTED TODAY. Whether you need to spend time researching, planning, budgeting, advertising, making a commitment, whatever, DO IT TODAY. If you simply apply the energy that it takes to answer all of the concerns you might have to actually doing something about it you will be amazed at how things move along.

Here are my hopes for you the reader and any potential business owner. I hope you believe in yourself. I hope you become so determined to change your situation that nothing stops you. I hope you realize that there are unlimited opportunities in today's marketplace. I hope you find one that gives you more self-fulfillment than you can imagine. I hope you get started today.

Joe Roberts owns theWebResources.com where you can research proven home based internet businesses and access home based internet business resources. You should choose a name that is easy to remember and type. It is best to avoid any weird characters or dashes in the domain address. For example you would not want "your-bu$iness.com" but you would want "yourbusiness.com". From the very beginning you need to think about making it easy for prospective customers or affiliates to type and remember your site. There are tons of free searches out there to see if your chosen domain name is already taken. One is instantdomainsearch.com but you can find literally thousands out there. Play around with your ideal domain name and search until you find a combination that is available. That is all there is to it.

Once you have decided on a domain name, you need to research what keywords will bring the most potential customers to your site. Key words are extremely important. Keywords are one component that drives search engine results for Google, Yahoo, MSN and all of the other top engines out there. If you wanted to start a pet business online, you might research the following key words and phrases: pet business, online pet business, pets, online business, dogs online, cats online, etc. We'll discuss ways to choose your keywords in later articles but I would suggest downloading Good Keywords from softnik.com. The program is free and easy to use. Good Keywords will show you how many times a given word or phrase was searched on the internet in the past 30 days. The trick is to find keywords that are in the middle of the search pack. You don't want to compete with keywords that generate 10 million hits a month when you can compete with keywords that fit your business and generate 10 thousand hits a month. More on this in later articles.

OK, you've got a domain name and a good list of keywords. Now you need a solid "Host" for your website. I do not recommend free hosting. You truly get what you pay for when it comes to hosts and this is one area you do not want to scrimp on. Paid hosting sites provide quick response support. If you were like I was, knowing very little about how all of this works, support is one of the key ingredients to building a successful home based internet business.

Next I would highly recommend setting up a free email account with Gmail, Yahoo, MSN or whomever you are comfortable with or maybe already using. This email account would be used exclusively for your online business. Experience tells me it is much easier and more effective managing your business email separately from your personal email. Your online business will generate and receive a large volume of email and it is essential to be able to access and manage that email easily.

So far, so good. We've chosen our domain name, researched and chosen our keywords, decided on a host for our site and set up a dedicated business email address. It's time to take a look at email autoresponders. Very simply, email autoresponders send out an "opt in" email to individuals (leads) who have expressed an interest in owning a home based internet businesses. This is not spam! In fact, all of the autoresponders I use are 100% spam free and, believe me, they monitor it exhaustively. If the person(lead) expressing interest in internet business receives the opt in email and clicks on the confirmation link in the email, it triggers a group of follow up emails that you can write yourself or you can join a program that provides that service. The person can also "opt out" of receiving any more emails by clicking the appropriate link in the email. You can find programs that will write and install your entire email follow up campaign for free. I like that word "free".

Once you get your autoresponder working for you, you can allow your campaign to build a list of "opted in" subscribers that might eventually become customers or affiliates. Keep in mind that we're talking about sending thousands of emails to prospective home based internet business owners each week. Take a look at the number of emails you receive each week. Multiply that by several hundred thousand. It takes time to build a list of prospective customers. The key is in the follow up.

The most interesting aspect of running an online business for me is the hosts, autoresponders, lead companies, etc. that I use will also allow me to make money by advertising their services on my site. This is called "affiliate marketing" and it is huge. So, you are not only a customer of these services that are essential to online business, you now also "sell" their services on your site, even if your site has nothing to do with home based internet business resources. The cool thing is that you can be confident in promoting the performance of the services you are using because you have personal experience with them. Nothing speaks as boldly as personal experience.

This is the basic formula for virtually every online business I have researched and I have digging for legitimate opportunities for 5 years. Don't forget to look for my follow up articles which will explore in depth each of the areas we've covered in this article.

Remember, "Nothing Happens Until You Swing".

Joe Roberts owns theWebResources.com where you can research proven home based internet businesses and access home based internet business resources. I'm stating the obvious you say. Maybe. Maybe not. I do know that I had to change the way I

thought about my email preferences settings when I started my home based internet business. Deciding which ones to allow through and which ones to actually take the time to read is

more subjective than you might think. How do you find legitimate opportunities without weeding through tons of spam? Is there a system?

Email Marketing

There is no online business that doesn't employ some sort of email campaign. If you want to become a successful home based internet business owner, you must use email marketing,

period. Email marketing is one of the first tools that you can use to drive visitors to your site. Every effective email campaign uses autoresponders to keep the ball rolling. The point is this:

There are legitimate opportunities being sent to thousands of individuals' inboxes everyday. The sad news is the majority get deleted without a second thought. Yet individuals still yearn

to be self-employed, working from home, enjoying life more and feeling a greater sense of accomplishment.

Get Off The Bench

If you want to begin to gather information about becoming a home based internet business owner there's more information available to you than ever before. It's FREE. Don't believe me?

You must have your head in the sand. All it takes to get to know how it's done is your time. You decide if you want to participate. You decide when you want to participate. But you must

decide and good decisions are always made from a solid knowledge base. If you don't know about something, you learn about it. Get off of the bench, get in the game and play.

Find A Niche

One of the biggest mistakes I made when I first started this business was getting too much information from too many different sources. My business started to grow when I quit going

after the latest deal and actually spent some time implementing a program of my own. Again, it takes time to build a business. Search the internet for home based internet business, see

what's out there. Find a program that you'd like to try and begin by receiving their free newsletter. I see more good ideas for free ten to one over ones I pay for.

Start Now

The longer you wait, the longer it will take for you to reach your goals. Whether you are interested in making an extra few bucks each month or making a real living from home, nothing

happens until you get your feet wet. I played baseball in college and for a short time in the minor leagues and we had a saying around the batting cage, "Nothing happens 'til you swing."

Get the bat off of your shoulder, pick a pitch you like and swing away. Nothing happens until you do.

Joe Roberts owns theWebResources.com where you can research proven home based internet businesses and access home based internet business resources. We’ll discuss emails from nowhere, why you get them and what to do with them. I’ll tell you about the investigations I’ve done into finding a real business opportunity online. We’ll also discuss the key ingredients that allow legitimate online business to prosper. Let’s go.

From Whence Do They Come?

Do you ever wonder why you get all of those emails from who knows where? I did. Once I started investigating I realized that I was generating all of that inbox clutter myself. I also realized it wasn’t such a bad thing if I took the time to find the right business.

You see, if you have EVER and I mean ever expressed an interest in a home based business; either online, through the mail, responding to a survey, etc. you are liable to receive information via email about such businesses. So maybe you can view those emails in a slightly different light.

What Next?

After 5 plus years of investigation I found that all of those emails I was receiving were actually a blessing in disguise. That’s right, a blessing. I’ve always wanted to work from my home, on my terms, on my time and make a legitimate living. Once I started to visit some of the sites in those emails, I discovered several online opportunities that “sounded” great. Sounding great is one thing, putting money in my bank account was quite another. I continued to pour through “emails from nowhere” and I finally realized that there were safe, inexpensive, results-oriented programs out there that were perfect for me. Keep in mind that I didn’t just jump at every opportunity that an email offered.

Misconceptions

Owning an online business is just like owning a real business. Owning an online business is just like owning a real business. Did you read that closely? The BIGGEST mistake that people make is misunderstanding that. It takes time and effort and a little bit of money. The cool thing about online business is that you can get up and running for a fraction of the cost of starting a business in your hometown. The flip side of that coin is that it takes just as much effort. The reason people don’t succeed in online businesses is the same reason they fail opening a service oriented business locally. They aren’t willing to put in the time that is required to make it work.

When you’re the boss you have to be self-motivated. You have to do it all: Accounting, marketing, follow up, follow up, advertising, etc. Most people want somebody to hand them a program that makes them a zillion dollars without any effort. It’s not out there. If you want to start and grow your online business it takes effort, period.

Why It Works

I own a small construction company and one of our marketing techniques is to offer a finders’fee for any of our customers that recommend us to a friend, co-worker, family whomever, and we sign them up. It is great for them and great for us. They make a little extra money for doing nothing but getting the potential customer in front of us and we get extra business for a fraction of the cost of our annual advertising.

Here’s a question for you. Let’s say you were working on a project in a customer’s back yard and as you were working a neighbor came over and asked you to look at a job at their house. Let’s say you got the job at the neighbor’s house. Now, the customer you were first working with didn’t refer the neighbor to you. In fact, the customer didn’t even know the neighbor talked to you. Should the customer get the finders’ fee? In this situation, no, the customer didn’t have anything to do with us getting the other job other than hiring us to do his job and us being in the right place at the right time to talk to the neighbor.

BUT, in online business, you get the finders’ fee EVERYTIME. That’s the beauty of a legitimate online home-based business. When you put in the time and effort to make your online business work, the system gets the job done for you. And it generally gets it done for pennies on the dollar compared to my construction business.

Joe Roberts owns theWebResources.com where you can research proven home based internet businesses and access internet business resources.
