What keeps you from it? What keeps you from changing your circumstances? What keeps you from living your dreams? What keeps you from doing what is necessary to improve your life? What keeps you from it? Whatever your "it" is, what is it that keeps you from moving forward?
I own a small business, I'm active in several internet marketing programs, I teach guitar lessons and I'm always looking for another stream of income. The one thing I have learned is that
nothing is easy and nothing is free. On the other hand there are lots of things that are not what I would classify as "hard" that can improve your life.
Becoming active in a local church is easy. Finding areas of service within your community is easy. Joining affiliate programs on the internet to try and create residual income is easy. So I
guess my question is why don't more people do the easy things to improve their life. Don't get me wrong, I'm not only talking about making more money. But the fact is that most people
hate going to work everyday, feel unfulfilled in their jobs, are worried about their retirement and are yearning for a way out. What keeps them from it?
There is no better time in history than now to find job opportunities. But some folks won't even go that far. Others that look and find options fail to follow through on even the simplest requirements of the program. Some find the option, sign up and then do nothing else as if some magic will occur that fills their paypal accounts with money. It is a phenomenon that I am
constantly observing, analyizing and questioning.
I have been witnessing the most glaring aspects of this phenomenon in one of my affiliate programs. This is not self-promotion so the affiliate will remain anonymous. The program is not
unlike thousands of others I have seen on the internet. It can create residual income in a couple of different ways. First by selling products and second by signing up people to participate.
The product list is extensive and includes lots of stuff that we all buy everyday. In order to advance to the first level of commissions, you are required to generate a certain amount of sales. The sales can come from yourself or from someone else. In spite of the fact that individuals in the program buy these sorts of products every single week and month for themselves and their families, they will not buy these products from a program that will pay them money down the road and easily advance them to a position to create residual income. It is insanity. They have found an opportunity, they have enlisted in the program but they will not go any further.
Here is my disclaimer. Not all of the programs on the internet are legitimate. Duh. It seems to me if you take the time to research a program including payout percentages, length in business, market reputation, etc., finding one that is legitimate is not that hard. But finding the program doesn't make you any money. Signing up for the program doesn't make you any money. Waiting for somebody to do it for you will surely not make you any money. Every program I am using now has extensive help for it's members. The help doesn't benefit you if you don't access it. Do you see my point?
One of the first things I noticed about building a business is that nobody does it for you. Simple right? Maybe to you and me but millions of people don't understand. They want a better life, more security for their family, more income, less time at work and more time at home but they don't want to put the effort into actually doing it. It's no different if you are starting a brick and mortar business or a business out of your home or a business on the internet. It takes effort. Not just on the sign up but everyday. Consistent effort will change your life. Period.
So the question remains. What is your "it" and what keeps you from it? You can find thousands of step by step by step programs on the internet that are making thousands of people residual income. What will it take for you to take the first step?
